The Choctaw Nation is kicking off Native American Heritage Month with their annual powwow this weekend.

Friday was "Choctaw Day" complete with different demonstrations, games, singing, and more.

Yesterday and today, dancers and drummers gather to form a powwow circle in the middle of the Choctaw event center.

Doors open at 10 a.m. and dance specials start this morning at 10:30 in Durant.
