A Skiatook mother is raising awareness about a holiday she says not many people know about.

Sunday is Gold Star Mother's Day, a day meant to recognize and honor those who have lost a child while serving our country in the military.

About 30 businesses across Skiatook are flying the Gold Star service flag to show support for Gold Star families.
