Oklahoma Counter-Terrorism Task Force Investigating Threats Made To Owasso Schools

Owasso Police and the Oklahoma Counter-terrorism Task Force are investigating several threatening calls and emails that have been made to Owasso Public Schools over the last two days.

Owasso PD placed more officers at all Owasso schools and the administrative building on Wednesday and said that they will remain for the near future due to the threats. Officials have not released details on the nature of the threats but confirmed the Oklahoma Counter-terrorism Task Force is investigating.

Owasso Public Schools released the following statement:

The district is working with the Owasso Police Department and additional law enforcement agencies to investigate threats made against Owasso Public Schools and staff. We are taking every threat seriously and are working diligently with agencies to determine the credibility of each threat.
Each of our schools are continuing with operations as normally as possible. We did not want parents to be alarmed should they see increased security at our buildings.
We will continue to provide parents with updated information.
