Weekend Events: Philbrook's Dog Days, Snow Ball Swing Dance, And More

It's another frosty January weekend on deck but there is quite a bit happening if you're willing to brave the cold! And to break it down for us, News On 6’s Kristen Weaver was here with a preview.

Fleet Feet Tulsa Race

The Go Short, Go Long, Go Very Long race hosted by Fleet Feet Tulsa allows runners to pick their distance. The race lengths range from a 5k to 50K.

All the courses are along the paved river trails in Tulsa and kick off at 8 a.m. Saturday at River West Festival Park.

Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and Program

Wagoner’s MLK events have been rescheduled for Saturday morning!

Starting at 9:40 a.m., there is a parade lineup at United Church. The parade is at 10. And then an MLK program and community choir will take place at the church after.

Mad Dog Demolition Derby

Claremore is hosting a rowdy event this weekend full of car smashing and crushed metal.

Doors open for the Mad Dog Demolition Derby Saturday night at 5 p.m. at the Claremore Expo Center.

There will be smashed cars and a lot to see for the whole family and tickets can be bought online.

Snow Ball Swing Dance

The Oklahoma Swing Syndicate is hosting a Snow Ball swing dance Saturday night!

Volunteers who helped put on past events can get in for free.

All ages are welcome, and the event kicks of at 7 p.m. at Southminister Church in Tulsa.

Souper Saturday in Claremore

It’s still chilly out there and Claremore is helping warm its residents up with Souper Saturday.

You can stroll through the Lilac District downtown and enjoy a bunch of different soups, stews and chilis.

Then you can cast your vote! You can get tickets at the Claremore main street building. It kicks off Saturday at 11 a.m.

Philbrook's PhilBark Dog Days

And finally, Philbrook is going to the dogs on Sunday with PhilBark Dog Days. Pups can take a stroll and smell the gardens.

They must be on a leash and owners are asked to bring your own bowl to fill with water and pick up after your pets. It’s happening Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
