A south wind kicks in on Saturday to usher in some terrific weather for the first day of February. Highs look to soar into the low to mid-60s across eastern Oklahoma Saturday afternoon! You’ll definitely want to make some outdoor plans!
And if you like that Saturday forecast, I think you’ll like Groundhog Day Sunday even better. We’ll be breaking out the t-shirts Sunday afternoon as high temperatures climb to near 70 degrees!
As February begins, Tulsa residents are experiencing a notable warm spell, with temperatures reaching the 60s and 70s this weekend. This is a significant increase from last week's highs in the 40s and lows in the 30s. Meteorologist Megan Gold highlights the shift: "This weekend, we're talking 60s and 70s. So if you're ready for an outside type of weekend, this is your weekend."
Weekend Forecast:
Heading into next week, there is still some uncertainty about our temperatures and just how long our early spring fling lasts.
Temperatures on Monday still appear nice and warm with much of Green Country again reaching well into the upper 60s to around 70 degrees, but a cold front will be looming just to our north.
There is a slight chance that the front could nudge its way into southeastern Kansas and far northern Oklahoma on Monday, in which case our far northern counties could end up much cooler than currently forecast.
There is also uncertainty on how far south that cold front makes it from late Monday into Tuesday.
As of now, we’re expecting the springlike warmth to continue into Tuesday and Wednesday as that front retreats back to our north, but if that cold front lingers near the Oklahoma/Kansas state line our northern counties could end up quite a bit cooler.
By late next week, a second stronger cold front is on the horizon with more winter-like temperatures likely making a return to Green Country.
