Police: Oklahoma City Man Killed Ex-Wife Before Taking Boy

A man suspected of killing his ex-wife and kidnapping her five-year-old son is in custody.

Oklahoma City Police arrested Chase Ainsworth Saturday evening after neighbors made a startling discovery in a metro home.

"At about 2:50 this afternoon, we had some neighbors go over to the house to check on a playmate and discovered that the mother was killed," said Michelle Henderson, Oklahoma City Police Department.

Police surrounded the home near May and 104th and said the victim later died at a hospital.

An Endangered Missing Advisory was issued for her five-year-old son, who was gone.

The alert claimed that Chase took the boy from his mother's home and said he was possibly armed with a knife and was considered dangerous.

A nearly five-hour search ended after the boy was safely recovered near SW 119th and Rockwell.

"Our main goal after discovering what had happened was finding [the child] safely, which is what we did," Henderson said.

Police suspect that 34-year-old Chase Ainsworth killed his ex-wife and then took their son.

Neighbors said it's an awful tragedy in a tight-knit community.
