Johnson & Johnson and the country's third largest drug distribution companies agree to a $590-million settlement with Native American tribes.

The settlement is for the companies' role in the opioid crisis.

All federally recognized tribes can get some of the settlement money, even if they did not sue over opioids.

This is separate from the $75-million opioid settlement the Cherokee Nation reached last year.

Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Junior said this settlement will help fight "a crisis that has disproportionately affected our Cherokee people."
