Mysterious Device Found Outside Claremore Liquor Store Not An Explosive

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol bomb squad has cleared a device found outside of a Claremore liquor store.

Claremore Police say the device was found behind Pit Stop Liquor Store by the owner of the business. Police say the area has been completely evacuated and officers diverted traffic on Highway 20 from the Turnpike to Dorothy St.

OHP took apart the device and says it was made up of broken-up smoke detectors, circuit boards, and other electronic parts that were packaged up with duct take. OHP ruled out anything explosive but say it was made to look like it.

Police say they are just thankful everyone is okay and nothing big happened. They said the store owner did the right thing by calling the police immediately.

This is a developing story...
